Funeral wishes your family actually needs
Your family will be asked burial or cremation, which funeral home, who to call, and whether you want a gathering. File those facts now so they are not guessing.
On the hardest day, your family will be asked a dozen questions in a row. You can answer most of them today.
They don't need a perfect service plan. They need facts they can follow while exhausted:
• Burial or cremation, and where.
• The funeral home, and whether it's prepaid. If money was set aside, where is that paper?
• Who to call first, by name: a minister, a friend, a veteran post.
• Whether you want a gathering, and who should lead it.
Haven't decided everything? Write the version you can live with your family knowing. A blank page hands every decision to the most tired person in the room.
Skip the eulogy. This isn't your final speech; it's a plan. Your family can find the words. They need the details only you can give.
P.S. Then tell your Legacy Steward it's there. Five minutes now saves days of guessing.
